The UGM Legal Outreach Team, in collaboration with the Bantul Regency Investment and One-Stop Integrated Service Agency (DPMPTSP), organized a legal outreach event titled “Villages Have Businesses: Legal Outreach on the Online Single Submission (OSS) System Following the Job Creation Law.” The outreach session, held in Mataraman Village, Panggungharjo Subdistrict, Bantul Regency, on Tuesday (September 12, 2023), is part of the “Yogyakarta Friendly to Micro and Small Businesses” Movement.
“Following the Job Creation Law, not many people are yet aware of the changes they are facing,” said Mario Agritama, head of the legal outreach team, in his opening remarks. Mario also noted that entrepreneurs face numerous challenges in starting their businesses, including the fact that not many MSMEs have obtained an NIB, particularly in Panggungharjo Village. This was acknowledged by Dra. Annihayah, M.Eng., Head of the Bantul Regency Investment and Integrated One-Stop Service Agency (DPMPTSP). Annihayah explained that the agency is currently stepping up efforts to ensure that MSME operators obtain their NIBs as soon as possible.
The speakers at this outreach session included representatives from the Bantul Regency DPMPTSP, the Bantul Regency Ministry of Religious Affairs, Bank BPD DIY Bantul Branch, and the UGM Legal Outreach Team. The UGM Legal Outreach Team itself consists of five Master of Constitutional Law students: Ade Yulfianto (2022), Ahmad Yani (2022), Beckham Podung (2022), Fayasy Failaq (2022), and Mario Agritama (2022).
The material presented included an overview of regulatory changes related to MSMEs following the Job Creation Law, an explanation of the requirements for obtaining free halal certification, and an overview of the requirements for applying for small business loans. In addition to the legal outreach, the Bantul Regency DPMPTSP also provided assistance to ensure that each participant could immediately obtain an NIB.
This legal outreach program aims to assist the community in the village by simplifying the process of registering integrated MSME business licenses through the OSS system. This initiative also serves as a form of support for Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) No. 8 of the United Nations: decent work and economic growth.
This activity received an excellent response from the participants, who are MSME entrepreneurs in the Panggungharjo village area. The participants experienced tangible benefits from this legal outreach activity and hope that programs like this will continue in the future to provide real benefits to the community.
