LCDC Organizes Career Debriefing for Prospective Graduates as a Form of Commitment to Career Development

Law Career Development Center (LCDC) has successfully held the Pembekalan Calon Wisudawan Prodi S-1 Periode IV TA 2023/2024 on Friday (23/8/2024). This event is a routine activity carried out by LCDC some time before the implementation of each graduation period at UGM. This time, it was held with the theme “From FH UGM to Your Dream Job #9: Peluang Karir Sarjana Hukum sebagai Jaksa”. In line with the theme raised, LCDC presented a speaker who works as the Head of the Staffing Bureau of Kejaksaan Agung, namely Sri Kuncoro, S.H., Msi.

This event was opened with remarks by Adrianto Dwi Nugroho, S.H., Adv.LL.M., LL.D. as Deputy Dean for Academic, Student Affairs and Cooperation. He said that every Bachelor of Laws graduate has different career interests, so a forum is needed to help prospective graduates to find their career interests. He also said that the graduation briefing which is routinely held by LCDC hopes to be able to help prospective graduates to gain new knowledge about the career that will be pursued after graduation. 

The next speech was delivered by Taufiq Adiyanto, S.H., LL.M. as Director of Law Career Development Center (LCDC) Faculty of Law UGM. He said that graduates of the Faculty of Law UGM have a great opportunity to pursue a career as a prosecutor. Guided by Indri Andini as the moderator, this event ran smoothly from start to finish. 

Sri Kuncoro started the event by introducing the Kejaksaan Agung as a government institution that has functions related to judicial power. Then, Sri Kuncoro explained the organizational structure of the Kejaksaan Agung. Furthermore, coinciding with the opening of registration for the 2024 CASN selection, he explained the recruitment process and the requirements that need to be met to become a prosecutor. Before closing the presentation, Sri Kuncoro shared a little of his experience as a prosecutor and gave some tips and tricks for alumni of the Faculty of Law UGM who are interested in a career as a prosecutor. The participants were very enthusiastic to participate in the event from the beginning to the end. This can be seen from the enthusiasm of the participants in the question and answer session which also ended the event. 

The implementation of this activity is also a concrete manifestation of LCDC's seriousness as one of the units at the Faculty of Law, Universitas Gadjah Mada in realizing the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, especially the 4th and 8th points, namely quality education and decent work and economic growth.
