KMMIH UGM Jakarta Holds National Webinar on “The Role of Auditing in the Early Detection of Bankruptcy”

The Family of Master of Laws Students (KMMIH) of Universitas Gadjah Mada Jakarta Campus organized a National Webinar entitled “The Role of Auditing in the Early Detection of Bankruptcy” on Saturday, June 12, 2021. The webinar was organized by KMMIH UGM Jakarta in collaboration with BDO Indonesia, and was also intended as a response to the aspirations and interests of Master of Laws students at UGM Jakarta.

The webinar featured two distinguished speakers with expertise in bankruptcy and insolvency matters: Gondang P. Panjaitan, Audit Partner at Tanubrata Sutanto Fahmi Bambang & Rekan (BDO Indonesia), and Irna Nurhayati, S.H., M.Hum., LL.M., Ph.D., lecturer at the Graduate Program of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Gadjah Mada. The event attracted 264 participants from diverse professional backgrounds, including legal practitioners, auditors, corporate representatives, and university students from across Indonesia.

The webinar was conducted in an interactive and engaging manner, with participants actively raising questions and exchanging ideas with the speakers. Discussions covered both theoretical and practical aspects of identifying early warning signs of potential bankruptcy within companies, highlighting the importance of auditing as a tool for risk assessment and business sustainability.

In his closing remarks, Fernando, President of KMMIH UGM Jakarta, expressed his gratitude to all parties who contributed to the success of the event. He emphasized his belief that the webinar would provide significant benefits to the wider community, particularly business actors, by enhancing their understanding of how to detect and anticipate potential financial distress and bankruptcy at an early stage. Through this webinar, KMMIH UGM Jakarta reaffirmed its commitment to facilitating academic discussions on contemporary legal and business issues while fostering collaboration between academia and professional practice.
