UGM Faculty of Law’s HPU Hosts “CONNECT YES!”: Building Positive Communication Through Board Games

The Health Promoting University at the Faculty of Law, Gadjah Mada University (HPU FH UGM) held an innovative event titled “CONNECT YES! Fun Communication Through Board Games.” This event was a collaboration between HPU FH UGM and the Gamaboardies board game community, offering an interactive learning experience through games.

The event, which took place on Thursday (October 16, 2025), in Room B.3.2, Building B, 3rd Floor, Faculty of Law, UGM, featured the Gamaboardies team as guest speakers. The Gamaboardies team serving as speakers consisted of Luthfi Baihaqi Riziq, Timotius Putra Nainggolan, Farrel Muhammad Arkan, Baskara Hasta Manggala, and Muhammad Rafif Akio Sarwadi. The session was moderated by Omar Syarief Natasubagyo, M.Psi., Psychologist, who serves as the In-House Psychologist at the UGM Faculty of Law.

Through popular games such as “That’s Escalated Quickly,” “Ito,” and “Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza,” participants were encouraged to understand the importance of effective communication, empathy, and teamwork in a fun atmosphere. This event aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically: SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, by promoting mental health through recreational activities that reduce academic stress; SDG 4: Quality Education, as these activities strengthen non-formal learning based on collaboration and creativity; and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, through collaboration between educational institutions and local communities such as Gamaboardies.

The “CONNECT YES!” event served not only as a form of entertainment but also as a platform for social reflection on the importance of healthy and collaborative communication on campus. Through an innovative and inclusive approach, HPU FH UGM demonstrated its commitment to supporting sustainable development through enjoyable and meaningful education.
