The Faculty of Law at UGM Offers Collaboration and Partnership with the Faculty of Human Sciences at the Catholic University of Timor

UGM committed to strengthen their identity as the World Class Research University (WCU). This is evidenced by visits by UGM delegations to various universities abroad. One such visit by a UGM delegation was to the Faculty of Human Sciences at the Universidade Católica Timorense on Thursday (November 7, 2024).

During this visit, the UGM delegation was led by the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Dahliana Hasan, S.H., M.Tax., Ph.D., who was accompanied by several faculty officials. Other UGM Faculty of Law officials in attendance included the Head of the Doctoral Program in Legal Studies, Prof. M. Hawin, S.H., LL.M., Ph.D., the Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, and Information Systems, Dr. Heribertus Jaka Triyana, S.H., LL. M., M.A., the Head of the Undergraduate Program in Law, Dr. Wahyu Yun Santoso, S.H., M.Hum., LL.M., and the Chair of the Partnership and Development Unit, Andika Putra, S.H., M.H., LL.M.

During the meeting, the Dean of the UGM Faculty of Law offered collaboration and partnership opportunities to high-achieving prospective students from Timor-Leste, enabling them to pursue further education or participate in student exchange programs at the Gadjah Mada University Faculty of Law through various available scholarship programs. During the visit, the Dean of the UGM Faculty of Law also stated that master’s and doctoral programs are open to alumni and staff of the Universidade Católica Timorense who wish to continue their studies. 

Meanwhile, the visit by the delegation from the UGM Faculty of Law was warmly welcomed and received directly by the Vice Rector and the Director of the School of Law at the Universidade Católica Timorense. During the visit, the Vice Rector expressed his hope that this cooperation program could begin immediately and be institutionalized in the future. This offer of cooperation aligns with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4 on quality education.

The Dean of the Faculty of Law at Gadjah Mada University hopes that this collaboration will further strengthen the relationship between the two institutions, with the support of the Universidade Católica Timorense in sending its best students.
