FH UGM and Kejati DIY Hold "Suluh Praja" Legal Outreach in Argomulyo Village, Sleman, on Online Loans, Online Gambling, Narcotics, and Village Regulation Drafting

On Monday, February 24, 2025, the Faculty of Law at Universitas Gadjah Mada, through its Legal Consultation and Assistance Centre (Pusat Konsultasi Bantuan Hukum/PKBH), in collaboration with the Yogyakarta Special Region High Prosecutor's Office (Kejaksaan Tinggi DIY), successfully conducted a "Suluh Praja" Legal Outreach session at the Argomulyo Village Office, Cangkringan Sub-district, Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region. The outreach aimed to provide legal knowledge and awareness to the attendees — village officials and local community members — on legal issues that commonly arise in their environment. This edition of Suluh Praja was held under the theme "Online Loans, Online Gambling, Narcotics, and Village Regulation Drafting (Pembentukan Peraturan Kalurahan)," with the goal of strengthening legal literacy and legal awareness among village administrators and the communities of Argomulyo.

The event commenced at 09:30 a.m. with a joint rendition of the national anthem, Indonesia Raya. Welcome remarks were then delivered by Danang, Head of Argomulyo Village. The Kejati DIY team followed with an introductory address and a presentation on the duties, functions, and responsibilities of the civil and state administrative division (bidang perdata dan tata usaha negara) of the Indonesian Attorney General's Office.

The program then moved to presentations by FH UGM lecturers. Muhammad Jibril, S.H., M.PrivateLaw. presented on "Online Loans and Online Gambling," providing participants with an understanding of the legal basis, risks, mitigation strategies, and reporting mechanisms relating to these issues. Florencia Irena Gunawan, S.H., LL.M.(Adv) addressed "Narcotics," covering the legal dimensions of the issue — including its impact, prevention, and law enforcement responses. Virga Dwi Efendi, S.H., LL.M. rounded off the academic presentations with a session on "Village Regulation Drafting (Pembentukan Peraturan Kalurahan)," providing guidance on how to produce village regulations that are relevant and appropriate to the conditions of Argomulyo Village. Representatives from both Kejati DIY and BPJS Ketenagakerjaan actively engaged in the Q&A session alongside the village officials.

All presenters delivered their material in an interactive and engaging format, generating productive discussion. Speakers responded to participants' questions clearly and practically. The legal outreach session reflects its alignment with SDG 16 on Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions — promoting good governance starting at the level of the Argomulyo village administration.
