As part of its commitment to sustainable water resource management, the Faculty of Law at Universitas Gadjah Mada (FH UGM) has introduced dual-flush toilet systems throughout the faculty. This innovation represents a concrete step toward water conservation and the application of environmentally responsible practices across campus public facilities.
The dual-flush system gives users a choice between two flushing options: a small button for liquid waste and a large button for solid waste. By matching water use to actual need, the system significantly reduces water consumption without compromising the hygiene or comfort of the facilities.
The adoption of dual-flush toilets supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) — particularly SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), by ensuring efficient and sustainable water management, and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), through the adoption of water-saving technology and the cultivation of resource efficiency awareness.
Through this initiative, the Faculty of Law UGM reaffirms its commitment to continuing to innovate in creating a clean, healthy, and sustainable campus environment. While encouraging all members of the academic community to take shared responsibility for the preservation of water resources.
