Faculty of Law UGM Welcomed the Visitation from SMAN 10 Bandar Lampung, Improving the Interest Towards Higher Education

Tuesday, (14/01/2025), Faculty of Law UGM welcomed a visitation from SMAN 10 Bandar Lampung. This visitation was aimed to promote and to introduce the undergraduate programs in Faculty of Law, aligned with the SDGs that focuses on the education and the partnership with the society.

The group of students was warmly welcomed by Dr. Hartini, S.H., M.Si., Head of the Department of Islamic Law. She was accompanied by Tri Rahmat Hidayat, A.Md., and Zam Basir Angga Wibisono, S.I.Kom., who serve as student affairs staff. The visit was designed to inspire high school students to consider pursuing higher education, particularly in the field of law.

In that event, Dr. Hartini emphasized the importance of education with shaping a leader that is professional in the future. She highlighted that Faculty of Law UGM has been committed to provide a qualified education that is not only fulfilling the academic standards but also to prepare the students to face the challenges in real life. This commitment aligned with the SDGs that pushes an inclusive and fair qualified education.

The students were provided with the information regarding the programs in Faculty of Law. they learned about the curriculum, the lecturer qualifications, and other extracurricular activities that improve their study experience. The dedication of the faculty is to create a supportive study environment was shown through the explanation from the staffs and answered the questions from the students, and provided the students with the explanation of the life in university.

The visitation was closed with the QnA sessions, where the students were expressing their enthusiasm and the curiosity in continue their study to higher education. A lot of students were also sharing their aspiration to be a lawyer, judge, or even a legal consultant, and they also respected the knowledge that were given to them by the faculty members.

This visitation was not only functioning as a promotion for the Faculty of Law but also became a platform to inspire the next generation of legal professionals. With improving their interest for a higher education, UGM has contributed to a broader concrete goal in achieving qualified education for everyone, as what has been included in the SDGs.

In conclusion, the collaboration between UGM and SMA N 10 Bandar Lampung reflected the importance of the partnership between educational institutions and the society in promoting the higher education. Faculty of Law UGM maintaining their commitment to keep fostering the young generation’s ideas and preparing them for a successful future in the field of law.
