On Thursday (March 13, 2025), the Faculty of Law, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), through its Legal Consultation and Aid Center (PKBH) Work Unit, visited Radio Republik Indonesia Yogyakarta (RRI Yogyakarta). The visit aimed to discuss synergies, collaboration, and cooperation in a joint broadcast program involving UGM Faculty of Law lecturers and students. Through this collaboration, it is hoped that educational programs will be created that provide a broader and more accessible understanding of the law to the public.
This even is part of the UGM Faculty of Law's effort to realize point 4 of the SDGs by providing quality, inclusive, and equitable legal knowledge to all through interactive radio broadcasts. Point 17 of the SDGs involves building partnerships to achieve concrete and better goals, one of which is with RRI Yogyakarta
The discussion meeting was attended by representatives from the UGM Faculty of Law, including Dr. Heribertus Jaka Triyana, S.H., LL.M., M.A., Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, and Information Systems, and Dr. Airin Liemanto, S.H., LL.M. as Secretary II of the Faculty of Law's Student Activity Unit (PKBH) at UGM, and Adetia Surya Maulana and Ruth Jessieca Margareth as part-time staff members of the Faculty of Law's Student Activity Unit (PKBH) at UGM. Also present were representatives from RRI Yogyakarta, namely Mr. Surya and his team.
This activity is a follow-up initiative by the Faculty of Law's PKBH, a concrete implementation of the Cooperation Agreement between the Faculty of Law and RRI Yogyakarta. The broadcast program will be implemented in the form of a live radio broadcast, with collaborative synergy involving the provision of speakers from the Faculty of Law's lecturers and students discussing relevant current legal topics, as well as the provision of broadcast facilities and infrastructure, along with hosts, at the RRI Yogyakarta studio. This live radio broadcast on RRI Yogyakarta is planned to air 14 times, once weekly, from July to October 2025. This joint RRI radio broadcast program is planned as one of the outputs of the 2025 Legal Counseling Grant Program organized by the Faculty of Law.
The discussion meeting between the Faculty of Law and RRI Yogyakarta proceeded smoothly. The collaborative synergy between the two institutions will soon be realized in the near future in a concrete form as well as in the framework of implementing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, namely superior, impactful, and meaningful community service so as to realize better and broader legal services to the community.
