The UGM Faculty of Law and Kejati DIY continue to move forward in their efforts to improve legal understanding within the Yogyakarta Special Region community. On Wednesday, November 1, the UGM Faculty of Law, represented by Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, and Information Systems, Dr. Heribertus Jaka Triyana, S.H., LL.M., M.A., extended formal appreciation and gratitude to Kejati DIY for the successful implementation of the Free Legal Services Collaboration, "Suluh Praja." The appreciation was received by the Assistant for Civil and State Administrative Affairs at Kejati DIY, Fanny Widyastuti, S.H., M.H., accompanied by Coordinator of the Civil and State Administrative Division (Datun), Dr. Putri Ayu Wulandari, S.H., M.H., and the State Attorney team.
Under this Free Legal Services Collaboration, "Suluh Praja," the UGM Faculty of Law provides outreach lecturers to address legal issues within the community, while Kejati DIY delivers free legal services. To date, the "Suluh Praja" program has reached as many as 32 villages across the Yogyakarta Special Region.
Going forward, the "Suluh Praja" program will continue to develop through a collaboration between the Student Legal Outreach Grant and the External Legal Outreach Grant. This will allow for the integration of fresh knowledge from students with additional financial support and resources provided by external parties. In this way, the "Suluh Praja" program will be able to reach even more villages and serve more members of the community in need. The "Suluh Praja" program will become an effective vehicle for spreading legal understanding throughout society.
"Integrating the "Suluh Praja" information system will enable better monitoring, more accurate evaluation, and more efficient coordination." This was the explanation given by Dr. Putri Ayu Wulandari, S.H., M.H., Coordinator of the Civil and State Administrative Division.
Through these steps, the UGM Faculty of Law and Kejati DIY are jointly committed to achieving broader Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) targets -- including reducing extreme poverty (Goal 1), supporting inclusive economic growth (Goal 8), and strengthening partnerships for shared goals (Goal 17). The "Suluh Praja" program will be a tangible realization of this commitment, promoting justice and shared welfare across the Yogyakarta Special Region.
