78th Dies Natalis Celebration: 2024 PKBH Legal Competition

The Legal Aid Consultation Center (PKBH) of the UGM Faculty of Law held a Legal Opinion Competition in the framework of the 78th Anniversary of the UGM Faculty of Law. This competition lasted for one month, starting on Friday (05/01/2024) and ending with the Grand Final & Awarding on Wednesday (07/02/2024). The Grand Final & Awarding itself was attended by the Faculty of Law community and competition participants consisting of UGM Faculty of Law Undergraduate Students and High School Students throughout DIY. 

The theme that carried out was about “The Speciality of Special Region” which was based on Yogyakarta as one of the provinces in Indonesia that has special autonomy. In addition, this theme also focuses on the problems that often occur in the DIY region, namely regarding Village Treasury Land. This activity is a manifestation of Sustainable Development Goals point 10, Reducing Inequality and point 11, Sustainable Cities and Communities.

In this competition there are 2 categories. The first category, the category of Undergraduate Students of the Faculty of Law, Gadjah Mada University, with the scope of the problem being "Village Treasury Land in the Special Region of Yogyakarta". The second category, the category of High School Students throughout DIY with the scope of the problem being "The Polemic of Klitih and the Enforcement of Criminal Law for Children in Yogyakarta".

The winners of the 2024 PKBH Legal Opinion Competition in the Student Category are as follows:

  1. 1st place was won by Mohammad Didi Ardiansah
  2. 2nd place was won by Anggun Putri Nurussyifa
  3. 3rd place was won by Rab Marsekal Atma Pinilih

While the winners of the 2024 PKBH Legal Opinion Competition in the High School Category are as follows:

  1. 1st place was won by Team Teladan Jayamahe from SMAN 1 Yogyakarta
  2. 2nd place was won by Team Lato-Lato from SMAN 1 Bantul 
  3. 3rd place was won by Team Nawasena from MA Sunan Pandanaran Yogyakarta
  4. 1st Runner-up was won by Team Padmanaba 1 from SMAN 3 Yogyakarta
  5. 2nd Runner-up was won by Team A Fortiori from SMAN 3 Yogyakarta
  6. 3rd Runner-up was won by Team Juvenile from SMAN 6 Yogyakarta

This competition is expected to foster a mindset critical and provide space to practice, implement, and express opinions related to legal knowledge in public in a good and systematic manner for UGM Faculty of Law Undergraduate Students and High School Students throughout DIY.
