A delegation from Gadjah Mada University, led by Jeremy Kevin Parlindungan Silaban and comprising Fakhrul Haholongan Pulungan, Rizky Hidayat, Fadilla Arafah Rahardjo, Zaidan Chanif Alfarizi, and Adilah Atha Ramadhani Safri, won third place in the National Contract Drafting & Negotiation Competition at the 2025 Diponegoro Law Fair, organized by the Faculty of Law at Diponegoro University.
The competition centered on the theme “Enhancing Telecommunications Service Connectivity to Realize Digital Economic Transformation,” highlighting the critical role of the telecommunications sector in supporting the development of national digital infrastructure. Through this theme, participants were challenged to draft innovative contracts that are adaptable to the needs of the telecommunications industry, while taking into account the interrelated legal, business, and technological aspects. This competition also serves as a platform for law students from various universities across Indonesia to hone their analytical skills, legal drafting abilities, and negotiation skills within the context of the rapidly evolving digital business landscape.
Gadjah Mada University delegation advanced to the Finals after passing the Document Screening Round, which was held online from August 10 to September 10, 2025. In the Final Round, held on October 25, 2025, at the Faculty of Law, Diponegoro University, the delegation presented their contract drafting project titled “Managed Services Agreement for the Indonesian Branch Segment of the Seabridge One Cable System” before the panel of judges. After undergoing a rigorous evaluation process, the Gadjah Mada University delegation was announced as the Third-Place Winner during the award ceremony held on October 25, 2025, at the same venue.
This success would not have been possible without the guidance and mentorship provided by Annisa Syaufika Y. R., S.H., M.H., as the supervising faculty member who provided academic guidance throughout the contract drafting process.
This valuable experience reflects Gadjah Mada University’s commitment to developing students’ academic capacity and quality, while also making a tangible contribution to national legal development. It is hoped that this achievement will bring broad benefits to the institution, society, and the nation of Indonesia as a whole.
