On Friday, August 30, 2024, the Faculty of Law, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), through its Center for Legal Aid Consultation (PKBH), conducted a benchmarking visit to the Legal Consultation and Aid Agency & Legal Laboratory, Faculty of Law, Universitas Brawijaya. This visit aimed to enhance the community service performance of the Faculty of Law UGM through the PKBH by observing and studying the operations and services provided by the Legal Consultation and Aid Agency & Legal Laboratory, Faculty of Law, Universitas Brawijaya. This activity is also part of FH UGM's effort to contribute to the 16th Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) by building inclusive institutions for legal empowerment and the 17th SDG by establishing partnerships to achieve concrete and better goals.
The visit was attended by representatives from the Faculty of Law UGM, including Dr. Heribertus Jaka Triyana, S.H., LL.M., M.A., Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, and Information Systems; Dr. Dra. Dani Krisnawati, S.H., M.Hum., Head of PKBH; Dr. Sartika Intaning Pradhani, S.H., M.H., Second Secretary of PKBH; Muhammad Jibril, S.H., M.PrivateLaw., First Secretary of PKBH; and part-timer staff of PKBH. The Faculty of Law, Universitas Brawijaya, was represented by Dr. Aan Eko Widiarto, S.H., M.Hum., Dean of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Brawijaya, along with the management team of the Legal Consultation and Aid Agency (BKBH) & Legal Laboratory, Faculty of Law, Universitas Brawijaya.
This benchmarking activity is a step forward for PKBH FH UGM to enhance its services by learning from the practices carried out by the BKBH & Legal Laboratory of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Brawijaya (FH UB). In terms of administration, PKBH FH UGM gained valuable insights into the administrative processes for legal consultation and assistance services from BKBH FH UB. There were also extensive discussions regarding the accreditation that BKBH FH UB has achieved. Additionally, BKBH FH UB learned a lot about the organization of the Special Education for Advocate Profession (PKPA), which has been conducted by PKBH FH UGM. The visit also included a tour of the Legal Laboratory FH UB, where PKBH FH UGM observed the operations firsthand and even tried out the FH UB podcast room, which will serve as a good example for PKBH FH UGM to implement in improving its future services and performance.

This benchmarking visit went successfully. The Faculty of Law, Universitas Gadjah Mada, along with PKBH FH UGM, received a warm welcome from the Faculty of Law, Universitas Brawijaya, and the BKBH FH UB & Legal Laboratory FH UB. The collaborative synergy between the two institutions will continue to be strengthened to better fulfill the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, particularly in community service, thereby achieving improved legal services for the community.
