The Faculty of Law at Universitas Gadjah Mada (FH UGM) held the Postgraduate Graduation Ceremony, Period III, Academic Year 2025/2026, on Thursday, April 23, 2026. The ceremony is part of the faculty's commitment to preparing graduates of excellence and integrity. For the postgraduate students who have completed their studies and are ready to contribute in the professional and academic worlds, it was an important milestone. The proceedings were conducted in a dignified atmosphere and attended by the faculty leadership, lecturers, administrative staff, and families of the graduating students.
In this period, a total of 117 graduates were officially conferred their degrees from a range of programs within the FH UGM Postgraduate Program. Of these, 35 graduated with Distinction (Pujian), 60 graduated with Very High Honors (Sangat Memuaskan), and 22 graduated with High Honors (Memuaskan). These results reflect the consistently high and improving academic quality of FH UGM's postgraduate students.
The top academic achievers were Hanif Shofarudin from the Master of Laws Program (Jakarta Campus), with a GPA of 3.94, and Jefferson Hakim, also from the Master of Laws Program (Jakarta Campus), with a GPA of 3.93. These achievements are a testament to the fact that dedication, discipline, and a passion for learning can produce outcomes of the highest standard. They are hoped to inspire other graduates to continue excelling and making a positive impact in society.
The graduating cohort came from six programs: Master in Laws, Master of Notary Law, Master in Business Law and State Law, Master of Laws (Jakarta Campus), Master in Litigation Law, and Master in Medical Law. The breadth of programs reflects the wide range of legal specializations developed by FH UGM to meet the needs of society and the workforce. Through a multidisciplinary approach, graduates are expected to adapt to contemporary legal challenges at both the national and global levels.
The graduation ceremony reflects FH UGM's commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) -- particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education). A postgraduate education that is excellent, inclusive, and research-based is a critical foundation for producing human resources of high competence. Through innovative and relevant learning, FH UGM continues to develop graduates ready to compete and contribute at the international level.
Furthermore, postgraduate law graduates have a strategic role in contributing to SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions). Alumni are expected to be key actors in strengthening the legal system, improving access to justice, and building transparent and accountable institutions. The academic knowledge and integrity instilled during their studies are their principal assets in driving better legal governance.
Through this ceremony, FH UGM reaffirms its commitment to continuing to integrate the values of sustainability into the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. Education, research, and community service are all directed toward addressing national challenges and supporting the global development agenda. The April 2026 graduates are hoped to become agents of change, carrying with them a spirit of justice, professionalism, and sustainability across all their fields of contribution.
