FH UGM Delegation Wins the ICCC 2026 National Round Championship and Advances to Represent Indonesia in Croatia

On Saturday (31/1/2026), a delegation from the Faculty of Law, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FH UGM) once again achieved a remarkable accomplishment through its participation in the International Client Counseling Competition (ICCC) 2026 National Round. The team, consisting of Ardhina Nayla Dinara (2025) and Alexa Catherine Sastrawan (2025), secured the title of Champion of the National Round, earning the right to represent Indonesia at the ICCC 2026 International Competition in Croatia.

Participating in the ICCC 2026 National Round was both a challenging and rewarding academic journey for the UGM team. The competition required not only a strong command of legal knowledge but also the ability to conduct professional client counseling. Participants were assessed on their capacity to comprehensively understand clients’ legal issues, formulate appropriate consultation strategies, and demonstrate effective communication, empathy, and legal analysis skills in dynamic situations.

Throughout the preparation period, the team underwent intensive training sessions on a regular basis after their academic commitments. Each simulated counseling session was designed to strengthen their responsiveness, clarity of legal reasoning, and ability to provide practical legal solutions. This process enhanced their active listening skills, ability to identify clients’ needs, and capacity to develop a professional approach grounded in ethics and legal responsibility—fundamental values in the legal profession, particularly for advocates and legal consultants.

The fact that the ICCC 2026 National Round was hosted by Universitas Gadjah Mada added special significance to the experience for the FH UGM delegation. In addition to competing, the team also served as representatives of the university’s academic environment and professional culture in welcoming delegations from universities across Indonesia. Competing on home ground provided additional motivation to deliver their best performance while upholding the reputation of their almamater.

Winning the national championship was not merely a competitive achievement but also a reflection of a long, disciplined, and collaborative learning process. More importantly, this accomplishment opens the opportunity for the FH UGM delegation to represent Indonesia on the global stage at ICCC 2026 in Croatia, expanding international academic networks while showcasing the quality of Indonesian legal education to the world.

This achievement is also aligned with the commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Participation and success in the ICCC support SDG 4 (Quality Education) by strengthening the practical competencies of law students in ethical legal counseling and problem-solving. Furthermore, the competition contributes to SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions) by fostering future legal professionals who uphold integrity, prioritize client service, and promote the principles of justice and effective access to legal assistance.

Through this achievement, FH UGM once again reaffirms its commitment to producing law students who excel academically, demonstrate professionalism in practice, and are prepared to contribute to both national and international legal systems.
