The UGM School of Law, in collaboration with PERADI RBA, held the opening ceremony for the 17th Cohort of the Specialized Professional Training Program for Attorneys

The opening ceremony for the 17th cohort of the Specialized Professional Education Program for Attorneys (PKPA) in 2025 was held in a hybrid format on Monday (November 10, 2025) in Room B.5.4 of the Faculty of Law at Gadjah Mada University (FH UGM). This event marked the start of the program, which is a collaboration between FH UGM and the Indonesian Advocates Association—Rumah Bersama Advokat (PERADI RBA).

The event was attended by representatives from FH UGM as well as PERADI RBA. Representing FH UGM was the Associate Dean for Research, Community Service, and Information Systems, Prof. Dr. Heribertus Jaka Triyana, S.H., LL. M., M.A., the Head of the Center for Legal Consultation and Assistance (PKBH) at the UGM Faculty of Law, Dr. Dra. Dani Krisnawati, S.H., M.Hum., the Chair of the XVII PKPA Organizing Committee, Dr. Airin Liemanto, S.H., LL.M., as well as other committee members from PKBH. Furthermore, PERADI RBA invited Dr. Luhut M.P. Pangaribuan, S.H., LL.M., as Chairman of the National Executive Board of the Indonesian Advocates Association, to deliver opening remarks, as well as the online participation of M. Daud Berueh, S.H., Deputy Secretary-General of the National Executive Board of the Indonesian Advocates Association, who joined online, as well as the in-person attendance of Fajar Mulia, S.H., a member of the Supervisory Commission of the National Executive Board of the Indonesian Advocates Association, and Wijaya Kusuma, S.H., Chair of the PERADI Bantul Branch, along with members of the PKPA XVII organizing committee from PERADI RBA.

The PKPA Class XVII program will take place from Monday (November 10, 2025) through Saturday (November 22, 2025). The program features 30 experienced instructors—including academics, legal practitioners, and senior attorneys—and consists of 34 lecture sessions. The program is also designed to provide law graduates with the opportunity to deepen their understanding of legal studies, hone their practical legal skills, and instill the integrity and professional ethics required of attorneys as a foundation for taking the Bar Exam (UPA). A total of 60 participants will take part, including 33 online participants and 27 in-person participants.

More than just education, the implementation of the PKPA also represents a tangible contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4—Quality Education—and Goal 8—Decent Work and Economic Growth. Through this program, the UGM Faculty of Law and PERADI Rumah Bersama Advokat are committed to providing high-quality legal education that is relevant to professional needs and focused on enhancing the competitiveness of law graduates in the workforce. All course materials are comprehensively designed to align with the professional competency standards for attorneys. Through this PKPA program, it is hoped that participants will strengthen both their academic and ethical capacities, thereby preparing them to contribute to the enforcement of law with justice and integrity in Indonesia.
