Anambas Islands, April 29, 2025 - The second day of Community Service in the Frontier, Outermost, and Disadvantaged (3T) areas of Indonesia, which was held in the form of Free Basic Health Services at Berhala Letung Port, has been running successfully. This event is a collaboration between the Faculty of Law, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), through the Master of Health Law Study Program students, and the Pusat Konsultasi Bantuan Hukum (PKBH) Work Unit, together with DoctorSHARE, and the Anambas Regency Government, through the local Health Office and Health Center.
The team from UGM for this activity consisted of representatives of the students, namely dr. Nabila Khairunisa, dr. Kenya Leilani, dr. Muhammad Rizky Bafadhal, I Wayan Artawan, S.H., La Ode Akbar Alikhan, S.H., and representatives from PKBH, namely Sahl Radian Setyaki.
The free health service event on the second day started at 07.30 to 16.00 WIB. The public was increasingly enthusiastic about attending the second day's activities; even many participants came from outside the island. The number of participants on the second day, 150 people, increased significantly compared to the participants on the first day, 80 people.
In the Health Service activities on the second day, in addition to continuing to serve patients in general health checks and free USG examinations for pregnant women, there were additional health services. At today's event, dental examinations, birth control installations, and minor surgical procedures, such as lump, ganglion, and hernia operations, were also carried out. Minor surgical procedures were carried out on the DoctorSHARE ship hospital (RSK), namely RSK dr. Lie Dharmawan II, which already has operating room facilities.
The public who want to get health services are welcome to register at the registration counter, followed by vital signs examinations, simple laboratory examinations, such as blood sugar, uric acid, and cholesterol tests for those aged 30 years and over, and examinations according to patient needs. The health complaints conveyed were quite diverse, ranging from joint pain, to gout and hypertension, due to daily foods high in purine, salt, and iodine fractions.
Commenting on the event, Mrs. Komariyah, one of the participants who was a minor surgery patient, said, "I feel helped by the presence of DoctorSHARE and MHKes UGM students through this free health service. Alhamdulillah, the operation I underwent went smoothly."
Positive comments were also conveyed by dr. Nabila Khairunisa, one of the representatives of MHKes students. "I am impressed with the health services provided by doctorSHARE. I am happy that we, as UGM students, can contribute as a form of community service in the Anambas Islands Regency, especially Letung Island. Hopefully, the people of the Anambas Islands Regency will always be in good health," said Nabila, shortly after providing direct health services to the community.
The implementation of this free health service is expected to be able to support the implementation of SDGs, especially Goal 3 to ensure a healthy life and well-being, and Goal 10 to reduce inequality, especially in health services in the 3T areas. Of course, this activity is also expected to strengthen partnerships to achieve sustainable development goals, in accordance with Goal 17 of the SDGs.
