Universitas Gadjah Mada Joins the Asian Corporate Law Forum!

We are proud to announce that Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) Faculty of Law has officially become a core Institutional Member of the Asian Corporate Law Forum (ACLF)!

Founded in 2023, ACLF, in partnership with the European Corporate Governance Institute (ECGI), serves as the premier platform for corporate law and governance scholarship in Asia. The Forum now brings together top law faculties from across the continent, creating a collaborative space for cutting-edge research and ideas.

As one of Indonesia’s leading law schools, UGM is committed to advancing corporate law and governance scholarship both within Indonesia and across Asia. With Indonesia's significant role as the fourth most populous country and one of the largest economies globally, UGM is eager to bring Indonesian perspectives into key discussions on corporate governance in the region. This partnership offers a unique opportunity to influence the future of corporate law in Asia and beyond.

We are excited to be part of this esteemed network and look forward to engaging with scholars from across the region at the upcoming ACLF 2025 Conference, hosted by Chulalongkorn University, March 24-26. See you in Bangkok!

The membership of the UGM Faculty of Law in the Asian Corporate Law Forum (ACLF) also aligns with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, as well as SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals. By joining ACLF, UGM contributes to strengthening transparent, fair, and sustainable corporate governance at the regional level, while supporting the development of stronger and more accountable legal institutions. In addition, collaboration with leading law faculties across Asia encourages the exchange of knowledge and research that can accelerate the achievement of sustainable development goals, particularly in the areas of equitable legal and economic policies. UGM’s participation in this forum also represents a concrete step toward strengthening global and academic partnerships for the advancement of a more inclusive and progressive legal development in Asia.
