On Wednesday, (26/2/2025), the Faculty of Law, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), through the Legal Aid Consultation Center (PKBH), in collaboration with the High Prosecutor's Office of the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY), successfully conducted the "Suluh Praja" legal awareness program at the Timbulharjo Village Office, Sewon District, Bantul Regency, DIY Province. This joint legal outreach with the DIY High Prosecutor’s Office aimed to provide legal knowledge and awareness to the attendees, including village officials and the local community, regarding common legal issues.

This Suluh Praja session focused on the theme "Regulations on the Utilization of Village-Owned Land and Domestic Violence", offering participants a deeper understanding of the legal framework surrounding these matters. The session particularly highlighted Governor Regulation of DIY No. 24 of 2024 on Village Land Utilization, which governs the management of Tanah Kas Desa (Village-Owned Land) in DIY, as well as relevant legal provisions concerning domestic violence.

The event commenced at 9:30 AM (WIB) with the singing of the Indonesian national anthem, followed by an opening speech by the Head of Timbulharjo Village, Mr. Anif Arkham Haybar, S.Pd. Representatives from the DIY High Prosecutor’s Office then delivered a presentation on the roles, duties, and functions of the civil and state administrative divisions of the Indonesian Prosecutor’s Office.

The legal education session featured expert speakers from the Faculty of Law, UGM. The first speaker, Dr. Rikardo Simarmata, S.H., presented a topic on "Regulations on the Utilization of Village-Owned Land", providing insights into the latest regulations governing Tanah Kas Desa in DIY, which falls under the Sultanate Land category. He also elaborated on the latest provisions stipulated in Governor Regulation of DIY No. 24 of 2024 concerning the management of Village-Owned Land.

The second presentation was delivered by Ms. Niken Subekti Budi Utami, S.H., M.Si., who discussed "Domestic Violence Regulations", raising participants' legal awareness regarding domestic violence, including its legal aspects and the current legislative framework addressing this issue.

This legal awareness initiative is expected to support several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): SDG 3, promoting well-being for all by addressing domestic violence as a public health and legal issue; SDG 11, encouraging sustainable cities and settlements through proper utilization of Village-Owned Land; SDG 16, strengthening inclusive and peaceful societies by enhancing legal awareness at the village governance level; and SDG 17, fostering partnerships between institutions to achieve shared goals for a better and legally informed community.
