The FPPH Palapa delegation has once again achieved a notable accomplishment. The Raden Ajeng Kartini team, led by Dhea Praja Gupta and comprising Eva Selvia Putri Arlista and Ghefira Mustika Putri, secured third place in the Scientific Paper category at the 6th UII Law Fair 2024 National Law Competition—Mohammad Natsir Cup. This competition was organized by the Faculty of Law at the Islamic University of Indonesia with the theme “Legal Development Strategies in Anticipation of Indonesia Emas 2045.” The competition aims to foster students’ awareness of the importance of legal development in preparing for the realization of Indonesia Emas 2045, to serve as a platform for students—particularly in the fields of writing and debate—and to facilitate networking among delegates and supporters, as well as to instill the spirit and mindset of students as agents of change, agents of social control, iron stock, moral force, and guardians of values, in spearheading legal development to address the challenges of the times on the path to Indonesia Emas 2045.
Consisting of a document screening round and a final round, the Gadjah Mada University delegation successfully advanced to the final round of the competition. Under the sub-theme “Law and Climate Change,” the UGM delegation proposed a solution through a scientific paper titled “Integrated Seagrass Bed Management: Optimizing Seagrass Bed Management as a Blue Carbon Ecosystem to Mitigate Climate Change in Indonesia.” Under the guidance of Andi Sitti Ainy as Coach and Andika Putra S.H., M.H., LL.M. as Supervising Lecturer, the writing and understanding of this sub-theme enabled the UGM delegation to present their work before the UII Law Fair 2024 Judging Panel.
The competition began with a preliminary round of scientific paper screening from November 1 to November 14, 2024. The final round was held on November 23, 2024, and the winners were announced on November 24, 2024, at the Faculty of Law, Universitas Islam Indonesia. It was a valuable and exciting experience to serve as a delegate of FPPH Palapa, representing UGM in the UII Law Fair 2024 National Law Competition. It is hoped that this experience will pave the way for positive outcomes and bring benefits to all parties involved.
