In an effort to raise the quality of legal education in Indonesia, the Faculty of Law at Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII) visited the UGM Faculty of Law for a benchmarking study visit on Thursday, October 24, 2024. The visit focused on UGM Faculty of Law's ranking in the QS World University Rankings by Subject (Legal Studies), in which the faculty is ranked 201–250 globally.
This ranking is based on five key components: Academic Reputation, Employer Reputation, Research Citations per Paper, H-Index, and International Research Network. Reflecting the faculty's success in maintaining an internationally recognized legal education management system.
During the discussions, the UII Faculty of Law explored the strategies behind UGM's approach, including its business management systems, areas of strength and ongoing challenges, and opportunities for improvement. The session was attended by Dr. Wahyu Yun Santoso, S.H., M.Hum., LL.M., UGM's Undergraduate Program Head, and representatives from the Quality Assurance and Academic Innovation Unit.
The exchange opened up space for inter-institutional collaboration and knowledge transfer, in line with SDG 4 on Quality Education.
The visit confirmed UGM's role as a pioneer in quality legal education, while supporting the development of competent, innovative graduates ready to face global challenges.
