The Master of Law Program at Gadjah Mada University held a guest lecture on Friday, November 15, 2024, in Room 3.1.1, Faculty of Law, Gadjah Mada University. The hybrid format lecture was attended by students from the Master of Law program taking Employment Contract Law or related courses, students from the Regular Bachelor's program concentrating in Employment Law, and the general public.

The guest lecture was presented by Ahmad Maulana, S.H., from Assegaf Hamzah and Partners, and moderated by Armeilia Handayani, S.H., the moderator. The theme was "The Impact of Constitutional Court Decision Number 168/PUU-XXI/2023 on the Dynamics of Employment Law in Practice in Indonesia."

In the guest lecture, Ahmad Maulana explained, "This policy change not only impacts workers' welfare but also impacts the dynamics of industrial relations and the practice of employment law in Indonesia."

Through this guest lecture, participants gained a deeper understanding of changes in labor law norms and their impact on job security and worker welfare. This activity is expected to be a first step for students in developing fairer and more inclusive legal policies in the future.

This guest lecture reflects the commitment of the Master of Law Program, Faculty of Law, Gadjah Mada University (UGM) and all students to highlight the impact of new regulations on minimum wages, outsourcing, and job stability, as aligned with SDG 8 on decent work and economic growth. Furthermore, because this guest lecture also discussed legal changes that can strengthen access to justice for workers and ensure more transparent, fair, and accountable industrial relations in Indonesia, it also aligns with SDG 16 on Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions. This guest lecture also provided students with practical insights to support the achievement of a quality education relevant to the needs of the workplace and regulatory developments as outlined in SDG 4.
