To support the well-being and mental health of the academic community at the Faculty of Law, in accordance with SDG 3, the Health Promoting University Faculty of Law, Gadjah Mada University, offers Peer Counseling for students. This psychological service has been available since 2023 and will continue through 2024.
For the 2024/2025 academic year, 15 students, consisting of undergraduate and master's students, are members of the Peer Counselor Team. These counselors have gone through a recruitment process that includes file selection, mental health screening, interviews, and various trainings. It is hoped that these peer counselors will not only provide peer counseling support but also provide psychological first aid to students.

From Monday (September 23, 2024) to Wednesday (September 27, 2024), a series of training sessions were held for peer counselors. The training, titled "How to Be a Good Peer Counselorwas delivered by M. Imam Bahri, M.Psi., Psychologist, an in-house psychologist at the Faculty of Law, Gadjah Mada University. The training materials covered Mental Health Awareness, Psychological First AidBasic Counseling Skills, Ethics, Boundaries, Self-care serta Roleplay.

In addition to training, the Faculty of Law, UGM, also held a capacity building session for peer counselors. This was done to strengthen the collaborative bonds between counselors and the Faculty of Law community. This Capacity building session took place on Saturday, October 12, 2024, in Ledok Sambi, Yogyakarta. In addition to peer counselors and in-housepsychologists, the activity was also attended by the Planning and Development Unit and the Vice Dean for Finance, Assets, and Human Resources, Dr. Malinda Eka Yuniza.
The proposed Health Promoting University program, which provides counseling services, is part of the Financial and Asset Planning and Development Unit (Renbang Unit).
