Strengthening the Preparation for Writing a Master’s Thesis in Litigation Law, Faculty of Law UGM

Master of Litigation Law Faculty of Law UGM held a workshop entitled: “Strengthening the Preparation for Writing a Master’s Thesis in Litigation Law, Faculty of Law UGM.” This workshop that held on Saturday (24/8/2024) was attended by the students from Master of Litigation Law. This workshop was aimed to strengthen the students’ knowledge regarding the research methodology, thesis writing and the other mechanisms during their academic process.

This workshop presented Head of Master of Litigation Law, Dr. Supriyadi, S.H., M.Hum., as the speaker. In his presentation, Dr. Supriyadi explained regarding the importance of the thesis component knowledge, such as research proposal, research result, and thesis publication narration. Dr. Supriyadi emphasized that thesis becoming the requirements for graduation that needs to be formulated perfectly with a correct research methodology. 

“Students should be able to study the theories, principles, and legal norm that related with their research object, along with finding the solution through their deep data analysis,” said Dr. Supriyadi.

Aside from strengthening students skill in thesis writing, this workshop also support the relevant SDGs, especially with the 4th goal that focuses on the Qualified Education. With deeply understanding the research methodology, this workshop also took a role in improving the access towards inclusive and fair education. Moreover, the 16th point on Peace, Justice, and Strong Institution also supported through this event with ensuring the Master of Litigation Law graduates can give an academic contribution professionally in strengthening the legal and justice system.

In this workshop, students are asked to deepen their knowledge regarding their thesis substantial that included title, background, research questions, and the literature review. This understanding considered crucial to ensure the thesis that will be written has fulfilled the academic standard. Dr. Supriyadi also emphasized the importance of mastering the research methodology that included the data collection, data analysis and writing structure.

This event was expected to provide a comprehensive knowledge to the Master of Litigation Law students Faculty of Law UGM, so they can be well prepared to write their thesis and finished their final assignment properly. Aside from that, it was also expected that the contribution of the graduate students can strengthen both academic field and law practices, align with the SDGs goals in supporting the education system and sustainable law enforcement.
