I Niengah Gardhita Arsa Putra (20220 and Jeremy Kevin Parlindungan Silaban (2022) successfully achieved the runner up position in Legal Essay Competition in Raden Rahmat Law Fair 2024. This competition was held by Law Debate Community in Faculty of Law and Syaria Universitas Islam Negri Sunan Ampel Surabaya on Thursday (5/2/2024). With the theme “Pancasila and Independency of Judicial Power in Indonesia”, Raden Rahmat Law Fair 2024 was attended by 217 law students from 35 universities in Indonesia. In this competition, both delegations were supervised by Mahaarum kusuma Pertiwi, Dr. S.H., M.A., M.Phil., Ph.D. as the supervisor lecturer.
During the drafting process, the delegation chose the subtheme of “Integrated System of Judicial Power Supervision”. From the chosen subtheme, the delegates carried out the title “The Application of Artificial Intelligence in Supervising the Judicial Power as the Effort to Reduce the Disparities in Criminal Decision in Indonesia” for their essay. At the qualifying round, both delegates competed with other 26 teams that have selected from the drafting round. During this step, both delegates presented their essay properly until they succeeded in winning 2nd place from all the finalists who advanced to the final round.
This achievement by Faculty of Law UGM becoming the implementation of the 4th point of SDGs on Quality Education.
Through this achievement, both delegates hoping that they would be able to participate in the future competitions to bring glory to the UGM Faculty of Law. Hopefully, UGM Faculty of Law students can be motivated to continue to develop and become champions.
