Delegation from Faculty of Law UGM Secures 2nd Place in the Japan International Youth Innovation Summit 2024

Aileen Abigail Alexandra, a student from Gadjah Mada University (UGM) representing Indonesia, along with her team comprising representatives from Indonesia, Singapore, Morocco, and Brazil, has clinched the 2nd place award in the Japan International Youth Innovation Summit 2024. This prestigious event was held in Tokyo, Japan, on April 17-19, 2024, and was attended by 42 participants from various countries around the world.

As Indonesia's representative, Aileen Abigail Alexandra actively participated in discussions addressing important issues related to sustainable development goals. Focusing on Sustainable Development Goal number 17, "Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions," Her main focus was to promote peaceful and inclusive societies, provide access to justice for all individuals, and build effective institutions among nations. Aileen and her team's outstanding achievement occurred in the category of the second-best idea project in the Peace Innovation group. Their project idea highlighted concrete steps to promote peace and social inclusion amidst turbulent communities. This success not only recognizes their personal efforts but also elevates Indonesia's name on the international stage.

In her statement, Aileen expressed gratitude to Gadjah Mada University for the support provided in preparation and participation in the event. This success serves as inspiration that youth can play a role as positive agents of change in the global community, especially in building peace and social inclusion.
