Suluh Praja Legal Counselling in Sambirejo Subdistrict: Strengthening the Tourism Development with Proper Legal Mechanism

Monday (4/02/2024), Suluh Praja Legal Counselling successfully held in Sambirejo Subdistrict, Sleman. This counselling session was a collaboration between the subdistrict government, Yogyakarta High Prosecutor’s Office, and several speakers from academics and legal practitioners.

This counselling session was started by the opening remarks by the representatives of Sambirejo that emphasized the importance of legal knowledge for the tourism development in that region, continued by the presentation by the representatives of Yogyakarta High Prosecutor’s Office that explained on the knowledge on the importance of the legal mechanism in village treasury management and the tourism development.

The main agenda was the presentation by Dr. Sigid Riyanto, S.H., M.Si. that reminded on the importance of proper financial management to avoid any village treasury misuse. This is relevant with the effort to realize the 16th point of SDGs on the transparency management and responsible to the public resources.

Next discussion was focusing on the tourism development that highlighted by the other speaker, Dr. Antari Innaka Turingsih, S.H., M.H. and Dr. Rimawati S.H., M.Hum. that explained about the aspect of agreement and civil related to the tourism development. Both speakers provided a knowledge on the importance of drafting a valid agreement along with the correct legal mechanism in land management and tourism objects.

Question and Answer session also becoming an important agenda in this counseling session. Diyatno from BUMDes asked about the breccia cliff management and the agreement with the third party, that answered clearly by the speakers afterwards.

In the context of SDGs, this session supported the realization of several targets, including the 8th point of SDGs (Decent Work and Economic Growth) with creating an economic opportunity through the sustainable tourism development, and the 16th point of SDGs (Justice) with ensuring the equal legal protection for the public.

“Communicating and collaborating with several parties becoming the key of the success in public resources management and sustainable tourism development,” said one of the participants.

Suluh Praja Legal Counselling in Sambirejo Subdistrict not only becoming a step in legal empowerment for the people, but also becoming a real contribution in creating a legal environment that conducive and sustainable.
