Suluh Praja Legal Counselling in Canden Subdisctrict: Solving the Legal Problem in the Village

Canden Subdisctrict became the host for the legal counselling on Monday (4/3/2024). This legal counselling was not only focused on providing the legal knowledge to the public, but also considering the principles of the Sustainable Development Goals and the application. In this session, 2 main speakers, Dr. Taufiq El Rahman, S.H., M.Hum.; Dr. Dian Agung Wicaksono, S.H., LL.M.; and Virga Dwi Efendi, S.H., LL.M., shared a knowledge on the legal issue that was often faced by the people of the village.

One of the problems that has been discussed was the construction on the green line. The public was given the knowledge on the importance of complying with the regulations on the land management, especially the activities that affect the environment. The solution that was given was to avoid the unlicensed construction that can lead to the legal consequences.

Besides the problems above, the discussion also covered the licensing on the land that used for the cultural activities, such as herbs production. The people were given the knowledge regarding the licensing process that must be followed to avoid the legal problems in the future.

Other topics that also discussed in the counselling was about the lending activities with collateral for land pawning and land price assessment. The participants was given the guide on the procedure that must be followed in the lending transaction and suggested to consult with the professionals.

In the land dispute settlement, the participants were also informed to report the issue to the reliable instances, such as BKAD, and given the knowledge regarding the existence of legal mechanism to protect their rights.

In conclusion, this legal counselling not only giving the public a legal knowledge for the participants, but the concrete solutions for the legal problem as well. This legal counselling covered the 11th point of SDGs on the Sustainable Cities and Communities, and the 16th point on the Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions. And with that, hopefully that the people of the village can live their daily life safely.
