Ceremonial Send-off for Postgraduate Graduates of UGM Faculty of Law

On Tuesday, 19 April 2016, Building 1 of the Faculty of Law (FH) at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) was filled with graduates. They were attending the Farewell Ceremony for the Postgraduate Graduates of UGM Faculty of Law for Period III of the 2015/2016 Academic Year. A total of 84 graduates participated in the ceremony, consisting of 42 male graduates and 42 female graduates. The event, which began at 12 noon, was opened by Prof. M. Hawin, S.H., LL.M., Ph.D., Dean of FH UGM.

The farewell ceremony was attended by several heads of postgraduate study programs. Prof. Dr. Edward Omar Sharif Hiariej, S.H., M.Hum. attended as Head of the Master of Laws Program, Dr. Djoko Sukisno, S.H., C.N. as Head of the Master of Law Program, Prof. Dr. Marcus Priyo Gunarto S.H., M.Hum. as Head of the Master of Litigation Law Program, and Prof. Dr. Ari Hernawan, S.H., M.Hum. as Head of the Master of Health Law Program. In addition, the event was also attended by Dr. Sulastriyono, S.H., M.Si. as representative of the Head of the Master of Laws Program UGM Jakarta Campus and Dr. Harry Purwanto, S.H., M.Hum. representing the Head of the Master of Notarial Law Program.

The event continued with the presentation of academic transcripts by each head of study program to the graduates. On this occasion, the master of ceremonies announced several distinctions. These distinctions included the fastest graduate, the graduate with the highest Grade Point Average (GPA), and the youngest graduate.

Dyan Franciska Dumaris Sitanggang received the distinction as the fastest graduate with a study period of 1 year, 6 months, and 9 days in the Master of Laws Program. Meanwhile, the distinction for the youngest graduate was awarded to Zil Aidi, who was 23 years, 1 month, and 27 days old. Zil graduated from the Master of Law Program. Meanwhile, the distinction for the graduate with the highest GPA was achieved by a graduate from the Master of Laws Program with a GPA of 3.93, namely Laurensia Andrini.

Laurensia Andrini was also appointed as the graduate representative to deliver a speech. After delivering her remarks, the Magelang-born graduate received a commemorative gift presented by the Dean of FH UGM. The gift was a form of appreciation for her achievement as the best graduate of this period. (Fitri)
