- Lecturing activity in Siti Hinggil and Pagelaran Keraton Yogyakarta
Lecturing activity in The Royal Palace of Yogyakarta started its first lecture on March 13th 1946 until 1973 (around 27 years). The lecturing activity for the large classes (reaching more than 1000 students) was held in Siti Hinggil Keraton Yogyakarta with a face-to-face method. Meanwhile for the small classes, the Faculty of Law used a 2-meter-divided room. - Lecturing activity at Bulaksumur, Yogyakarta
Since 1973, lecturing activity at UGM's Faculty of Law was transmigrated to the new location in Bulaksumur, Yogyakarta, which the land and the building was bought with the government's funds in order to develop higher education quality. During that year, there was only one main building for Faculty of Law, yet the improvement was made by providing a permanent divider with the wall within the room, so then the students can be more focus during the lecture, followed by building another new building that currently known as Gedung I on the next year. Gedung I itself only had one available room at that time. This building had the same function as Siti Hinggil Royal Palace for big classes that has 100-400 students for the maximum capacity. This building is also usually used for other ceremonial events, such as seminars or graduation ceremony. At the year 1976, another building was built on the same location as Faculty of Law, Faculty of Social and Politics, and Faculty of Philosophy that known as Gedung Kuliah Umum (GKU).
