Justicia Pioneers Hold Workshop Class at UGM Law Faculty

On July 31, 2024, the Justicia Pioneers organized an engaging workshop at the Faculty of Law, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM). This event aimed to enhance students' understanding of paraphrasing and citation concepts, which are crucial in academic writing and research. The workshop was led by students from the 2022 cohort of the Faculty of Law, who shared their insights and knowledge with their peers.

The workshop began with a presentation on the concepts of paraphrasing and citation, highlighting various methods that students can employ in their academic work. The presenters emphasized the significance of these skills in maintaining academic integrity and avoiding issues related to academic dishonesty and misconduct. This is particularly important in a rigorous academic environment like UGM, where the quality of research and writing is held to high standards.

Andi Sitti Ainy took charge of Groups 5 and 6 in classroom B.2.4, where she conducted a workshop session. Students participated in hands-on activities that allowed them to apply what they had learned about paraphrasing and citation. This practical approach helped students gain confidence in their writing skills and understand the relevance of these concepts in their academic journey.

Meanwhile, Andhika Adiguna led Groups 7 and 8 in classroom B.2.7, discussing the ethical implications of academic dishonesty. He stressed that understanding and applying paraphrasing and citation techniques are essential for fostering a culture of integrity within the academic community. His session prompted thoughtful discussions among students about the consequences of misconduct.

In classroom B.3.2, Ignasius Lintang Nusantara engaged Groups 9 and 10 in a lively discussion about the challenges students face when learning to paraphrase and cite correctly. He encouraged students to share their experiences and strategies, fostering a collaborative learning environment.

Damara Luthfiah, who led Groups 11 and 12 in classroom B.3.3, focused on the practical applications of paraphrasing and citation in legal writing. She provided examples from legal texts, illustrating how these skills are vital for law students in their future careers.

Sarah Dwi Kautsar, addressing Groups 13 and 14 in classroom B.3.4, emphasized the role of technology in aiding students with paraphrasing and citation. She introduced various online tools and resources that can assist students in ensuring their work is original and properly cited.

Finally, Ramadani S.D. Nicholas and Patricia Nerissa wrapped up the workshop by leading Groups 15 to 18 in classrooms B.3.5 and B.3.6, respectively. They discussed the importance of continuous learning and improvement in writing skills, encouraging students to seek feedback and support from their peers and instructors.
