A total of 28 out of 48 graduates from the four Postgraduate Programs at the UGM Faculty of Law took part in the Postgraduate Graduation Ceremony, Period II, Academic Year 2022/2023 on Wednesday, January 25, at the Auditorium of Building B, Faculty of Law.
The ceremony was opened on behalf of the Dean of the Faculty of Law by Adrianto Dwi Nugroho, S.H., Adv.LL.M., LL.D., Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and Partnerships. This was followed by the presentation of academic transcripts to graduates with distinction honors, conducted by Adrianto Dwi Nugroho. Transcripts were then presented by each Program Head: Chair of the Master of Laws Program, Sri Wiyanti Eddyono, S.H., LL.M.(HR)., Ph.D.; Chair of the Master of Notarial Law Program, Dr. Destri Budi Nugraheni, S.H., M.Si.; Chair of the Master of Business and State Law Program, Irna Nurhayati, S.H., M.Hum., LL.M., Ph.D.; and Secretary of the Master of Laws Program (Jakarta Campus), Dr. Ninik Darmini, S.H., M.Hum.
This period's top graduate was Muhammad Maulana Hasnan Rasyid from the Master of Laws Program, who achieved a GPA of 3.98 and graduated with distinction (cumlaude). Alongside Muhammad Maulana, five other graduates also earned distinction honors: Dika Putri Vindi Santika Anie, Septha Lidya Purba, Nicolas Silalahi, Diok Kinski Maharani Detri Ayusta, and Desti Wibowo.
As the top graduate, Muhammad Maulana delivered remarks on behalf of the graduating cohort. In his address, he expressed deep gratitude -- particularly to the lecturers and parents who had supported the graduates on their journey to this milestone.
"Friends, earlier at the GSP it was said that graduation marks an end. I want to remind all of you that this isn't an end -- it's a beginning for us. We must ask ourselves whether we have truly become educated people. Because once we step out of this room, our nation, our country, and our society -- especially those who are poor and impoverished, those who are marginal and marginalized, those who are oppressed and suppressed -- are waiting for our service and dedication, drawing on the knowledge we have gained." This was the closing message Muhammad Maulana shared with his fellow graduates.
The ceremony continued with remarks from the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and Partnerships, Adrianto Dwi Nugroho, S.H., Adv.LL.M., LL.D. In his address, Adrianto Dwi Nugroho likewise emphasized that graduation is not an end, but the beginning of a journey for the graduates.
"After this, society's expectations of all of you will naturally grow higher, because you are expected not only to resolve the legal problems present in society, but also to contribute even more. So once you leave this Faculty of Law, please go out and actualize yourselves -- wherever and whenever you may be." This was the message Adrianto Dwi Nugroho shared with the graduates present at the ceremony.
