The UGM Faculty of Law delegation, under the auspices of the Satria Paramartha Moot Court Community (SPARTA), has once again secured achievement at the NMCC Prof. Soedarto IX Trophy Competition 2023. In this competition, the UGM Faculty of Law claimed First Place along with the awards for Best Panel of Judges, Best Public Prosecutor, Best Legal Counsel, Best Substitute Court Clerk, and Best Witness and Expert.
The NMCC Prof. Soedarto IX Trophy, organized by Universitas Diponegoro, was held in two stages. The first stage was a preliminary round, attended by 16 delegations from universities across Indonesia. The second stage was the final round, attended by 4 delegations who successfully advanced from the preliminary round. These four teams came from Universitas Gadjah Mada, Universitas Udayana, Universitas Mataram, and Universitas Kristen Indonesia. The final round was conducted by submitting court documents and conducting an in-person trial session at the Semarang District Court on Sunday, November 5, 2023.
The case facts (kasus posisi) used at the NMCC Prof. Soedarto IX Trophy were a corruption case for the preliminary round and a customs criminal offense case for the final round. These case facts presented a unique challenge for delegation members, requiring them to think critically and sharpen their skills in criminal law.
The UGM Faculty of Law delegation for the Prof. Soedarto IX Trophy comprised 18 delegates: Amalia Sayyidatur Rohmah (2021), Iona Fahriyah Odilla (2021), Indri Andini (2021), Vanesa Setianda (2021), Nurmala Sari Drajati (2021), Nasir Adli Syariffudin (2021), Nida Qori Mumtaza, Hafizhah Nur Oktawiyana (2021), Cut Athaya Putri Khalishah (2022), Faris Alif Indiarto (2022), Diva Aulia Fajar Lestari (2022), Robertus Bellarminus Aryya Pradanika (2022), Intania Widhia Ramadhani (2022), Rafi Malik Rozan (2022), Patricia Abigail Simanjuntak (2022), Dimas Satria Putra Okiyanto (2022), Rafaela Maria Kenya Mutiastu (2022), and Muhammad Nazal Sultan Tontowi (2022); along with 2 officials, Dwi Putri Respatiningrum (2021) and Eka Anugrah Widianto Surono (2022). Throughout the competition, the delegation received guidance and direction from Muhammad Fatahillah Akbar, S.H., LL.M., who served as faculty supervisor.
All members of the UGM Faculty of Law delegation for the NMCC Prof. Soedarto IX Trophy competition are deeply grateful, as all the prayers and hard work invested by the team resulted in the best possible outcome for their alma mater, UGM. The delegation's achievement would not have been possible without the assistance of various parties who supported them along the way. It is hoped that students of the UGM Faculty of Law will continue to bring honor to their alma mater, both at the national and international level, in the years to come.
