On Thursday (August 21, 2025), the Faculty of Law at Atma Jaya Catholic University of Jakarta conducted a benchmarking visit to the Doctoral Program in Legal Studies at the Faculty of Law, Gadjah Mada University (FH UGM). This activity aimed to improve legal education standards and strengthen international cooperation networks, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which emphasize the importance of quality education and global collaboration.
The delegation from Atma Jaya Catholic University of Jakarta was led by the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Dr. iur. Asmin Fransiska, S.H., LL.M., along with senior administrators and department chairs. They were received by the leadership of UGM’s Doctoral Program in Law and the Academic Quality Assurance Unit. This meeting served as a forum for exchanging experiences and best practices in the management of legal education programs.
The discussion focused on developing curricula, facilities, and quality standards that meet international standards. This reflects both institutions’ commitment to continuously improving academic quality and adapting to the dynamics of global law.
Furthermore, this collaboration underscores support for SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). The synergy between Unika Atma Jaya Jakarta and UGM is expected to produce a legal education model that is relevant and innovative, and that contributes to the development of an inclusive and sustainable society.
This benchmarking visit is an important step in strengthening collaboration among law schools in Indonesia, with the long-term goal of enhancing global competitiveness and providing tangible benefits for both students and the legal community.
