The El-Asah delegation from the Faculty of Law at Gadjah Mada University (UGM) achieved a remarkable feat by winning first place in the 2024 HIMSLAW Legal Competition, a prestigious competition organized by the Business Law Student Association (HIMSLAW) at BINUS University.
The El-Asah delegation consisted of three students from the class of 2021: Mikha Duce Vania P as delegation chair, with Daniel Valentino Manik and David Axel Irawan as delegation members. The competition, which featured teams from various renowned universities, addressed themes relevant to legal and environmental issues, specifically the application of Carbon Economic Value (NEK) and the implementation of New and Renewable Energy (EBT).
The competition consisted of two rounds. In the preliminary round, participants were asked to draft a legal opinion containing a legal analysis of the given case scenario. The El-Asah team successfully demonstrated their excellence through comprehensive and solution-oriented legal arguments. This success propelled them to the final round, where they had to present the results of their analysis and answer critical questions from the panel of judges.
In the final round, the El-Asah Delegation impressed the panel of judges with solid arguments, in-depth mastery of the subject matter, and the ability to answer questions concisely. This achievement demonstrates the excellence of UGM Law School students in integrating legal theory with practice and current issues in society.
It is hoped that this success will motivate other students to continue excelling and bringing honor to the university at both the national and international levels. The UGM Faculty of Law appreciates the dedication and hard work of the El-Asah Delegation, which has brought pride to the institution. This success is also in line with SDG Goal 4: ensuring quality education.
Congratulations to the El-Asah Delegation on this extraordinary achievement!
