<\/a><\/p>\nThe National Commission on Violence Against Women (KOMNAS Perempuan) visited the Faculty of Law, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), to consult with the Criminal Law Experts Team of the Faculty of Law UGM regarding the drafting of the Draft Bill on the Elimination of Sexual Violence (RUU Penghapusan Kekerasan Seksual). The consultation was held over two days, beginning on Monday, 29 July 2019, and continuing on 30 July 2019 at the Professors\u2019 Meeting Room of the Faculty of Law UGM.<\/p>\n
The event was attended by several representatives, including Prof. dr. Vennetia Ryckerens Danes, M.S., Ph.D. (Deputy for the Protection of Women's Rights at the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection of the Republic of Indonesia), Sri Nurhewati and Imam Nahei (Commissioners of KOMNAS Perempuan), Hayati Setia Inten (Division Coordinator), and Asmaul Khusnaeny (Assistant for Legal and Policy Reform). The Criminal Law Experts Team consisted of Prof. Dr. Edward Omar Sharif Hiariej, S.H., M.Hum., Dra. Dani Krisnawati, S.H., M.Hum., and Dr. Supriyadi, S.H., M.Hum. Representatives from several institutions also attended, including the Yogyakarta Office of the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection, LBH Yogyakarta, the Center for Gender Studies at UIN Sunan Kalijaga, and the Directorate General of Legislation.<\/p>\n
Pada hari pertama pembahasan diawali dengan penentuan dimana RUU Penghapusan Kekerasan Seksual ini akan ditempatkan, kemudian mengupas sembilan tindak pidana yang ada didalamnya.
\r\n\u201cBagaimana payung hukum dapat diformulasikan agar dapat lebih efektif dan implementatif membantu pihak-pihak yang membutuhkan dan melindungi korban?\u201d Ibu Vennetia mengajukan pertanyaan.<\/p>\n
The participants were then divided into several groups to discuss the elements of the offenses. On the second day, the discussion focused on criminal sanctions and the Delphi system.<\/p>\n
At the end of the meeting, KOMNAS Perempuan expressed its appreciation to all parties who had contributed to the discussion on the Draft Bill on the Elimination of Sexual Violence. All participants expressed their hope that the issues discussed during the meeting could be followed up and implemented effectively, and that the bill could be enacted soon.<\/p>\n
