{"id":7390,"date":"2019-02-19T12:32:33","date_gmt":"2019-02-19T05:32:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/law.ugm.ac.id\/?p=3180"},"modified":"2019-02-19T12:32:33","modified_gmt":"2019-02-19T05:32:33","slug":"rapat-senat-terbuka-dan-orasi-ilmiah-dies-natalis-fh-ugm-ke-73","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/law.ugm.ac.id\/en\/rapat-senat-terbuka-dan-orasi-ilmiah-dies-natalis-fh-ugm-ke-73\/","title":{"rendered":"FH UGM Holds Open Senate Meeting and Scientific Oration to Mark Its 73rd Anniversary"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>FH UGM Holds Open Senate Meeting and Scientific Oration to Mark Its 73rd Anniversary<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The series of events commemorating the 73rd anniversary of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FH UGM), concluded with an Open Senate Meeting and Scientific Oration held on Tuesday, 19 February 2019, at the University Club, Universitas Gadjah Mada.\nDuring the Open Senate Meeting, Dean of FH UGM, Prof. Dr. Sigit Riyanto, S.H., LL.M., delivered the 2018 Dean\u2019s Report. The report outlined FH UGM\u2019s achievements throughout 2018 in several areas, including academics and student affairs; finance, assets, and human resources; as well as research, community service, partnerships, and alumni relations.<\/p>\n<p>The event continued with a Scientific Oration delivered by Prof. Nadirsyah Hosen, Ph.D., Professor at the Faculty of Law, Monash University, Australia. He presented a paper entitled The Idea of \u201cNKRI Bersyari\u2019ah\u201d: The Interaction of Democracy, Law, Shari\u2019a and the Nation. According to Prof. Nadirsyah Hosen, living in accordance with the values of Pancasila reflects the practice of Sharia values, making the concept of an \u201cNKRI Bersyari\u2019ah\u201d unnecessary. He further highlighted that one of Indonesia\u2019s current challenges is finding the right approach to maintaining harmony among people of different religions and beliefs, particularly in fostering tolerance among the majority toward minority groups.<\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">The program continued with a traditional tumpeng cutting ceremony, the signing of cooperation agreements, and the presentation of awards to FH UGM students who had achieved outstanding results at the international level. The Dean of FH UGM led the tumpeng cutting ceremony, presenting the first portion to Prof. Dr. Siti Ismijati Jenie, S.H., CN., and the second portion to Faiz Rahman, S.H., LL.M.\nOn the same occasion, FH UGM also signed cooperation agreements with the Indonesian Banking Alternative Dispute Resolution Institution (LAPSPI); the Foundation for the Empowerment of Women-Headed Families (PEKKA); Makarim &amp; Taira Law Firm; the Center for Advocacy for Women, Persons with Disabilities and Children (SAPDA); and Lex Regis: Agustinus Dawarja and Partners.\nAwards for outstanding students were presented to several students for their achievements in international competitions. Adinda Laksmi, representing the FH UGM team in the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition 2018, received recognition for Third Best Overall Team, Best Oralist Award, and Fourth Best Overall Memorial Scores. Sabrina Nugrahani Salsabila, representing the team at the Grotius Centre for International Legal Studies, International Criminal Court Moot Court Competition 2018, achieved the Quarter-Finalist of the International Round distinction. Meanwhile, Anis Afla, representing the FH UGM team in the C.
