The series began with a legal outreach session covering inheritance, environmental law, governance, and other topics at the Tirtohargo Village Hall, Kretek District, Bantul Regency. The session was delivered by Dr. Agus Sudaryanto, S.H., M.Si.; Dr. Dinarjati Eka Puspitasari, S.H., M.Hum.; Herliana, S.H., M.Com.Law., Ph.D.; Hendry Julian Noor, S.H., M.Kn.; and Sartika Intaning Pradhani, S.H., M.H., accompanied by PKBH staff member Ayu Tika Pravindias.\nDuring the session, Agus explained the three inheritance law systems applicable in Indonesia: customary law, Islamic law, and the Indonesian Civil Code (KUHPerdata). Dinar discussed the importance of maintaining environmental cleanliness, including waste separation for handicrafts and souvenirs. Hendry explained public services provided by lecturers and village officials. Both lecturers and village officials provide public services, but in different fields: lecturers provide public services in education, while village officials provide public services in government administration.<\/p>\n<p>One of the participants, Petrus, raised several questions. First, he suggested that legal outreach as part of community service should cover not only legal matters but also practical skills such as carpentry, as the people of Tirtohargo Village needed to improve their skills in this area. Second, he suggested that future legal outreach sessions be held during community meetings. Although this would expand the outreach area, the schedule would need to be more flexible to accommodate residents\u2019 activities. Third, he asked about legal enforcement concerning waste disposal and livestock activities that potentially cause environmental pollution.<\/p>\n<p>Herliana explained that suggestions for interdisciplinary community service materials would be facilitated by connecting the program with relevant faculties. Meanwhile, arrangements concerning the locations and schedules would be further coordinated internally within the faculty. Dinarjati explained that, under environmental law, livestock operations require permits, and violations may result in administrative, civil, or criminal sanctions. Waste management, meanwhile, can be improved through waste sorting for handicrafts or by establishing waste banks. Hendry added that administrative sanctions may be imposed when an activity is officially registered, including fines or coercive monetary penalties. Sartika emphasized that village officials\u2019 response to waste and livestock-related issues should be aligned with the village\u2019s role as a community organizer that helps address and manage residents\u2019 needs.
