It also encourages communities to critically examine state legal norms that may potentially violate citizens\u2019 rights and provides substantive input for Indonesia\u2019s ongoing legal reform agenda.<\/p>\n<p>Held on 6\u20137 September 2017, the conference featured five panels: Land and Environmental Law, Criminal Law, Anti-Corruption Law, Islamic Law, and Constitutional Law. Following a rigorous selection process, 33 papers were selected for presentation. Participants included invited speakers and researchers selected through the call for papers. Speakers included Prof. Tim Lindsey (University of Melbourne), Prof. Sulistyowati Irianto (Universitas Indonesia), Todung Mulya Lubis, Dr. Laode Muhammad Syarif (Corruption Eradication Commission), Prof. Simon Butt (University of Sydney), Prof. Adriaan Bedner (Leiden University), Prof. Maria S.W. Soemardjono, and Dr. Zainal Arifin Mochtar (Universitas Gadjah Mada).<\/p>\n<p>The conference marked the first international conference organized by the Faculty of Law, Universitas Gadjah Mada, focusing on the socio-legal approach.
