This time, FH UGM entered into a cooperation agreement with the Ministry of Environment and Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia. Held on September 30, 2016, the event was hosted by Usman Budi Wibowo, B.Sc. as the master of ceremonies. The program began with the singing of the Indonesian national anthem, Indonesia Raya, followed by several opening remarks.

FH UGM welcomed the partnership, represented by its Dean. “We would like to thank the Ministry of Environment and Forestry for its willingness to collaborate with FH UGM. Under this cooperation, we will receive 20 prospective students to participate in the Master of Litigation Law program. We will do our best to provide them with a good education. We have also discussed incorporating materials from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry into the curriculum,” said Prof. M. Hawin, S.H., LL.M., Ph.D. in his remarks.

The Ministry of Environment and Forestry views legal knowledge as an essential component in policy-making. “The Ministry of Environment and Forestry still needs to strengthen its capacity, particularly in the legal field. Issues such as pollution and waste management require greater attention. This is because regulations serve as an important reflection of efforts to provide better public services,” said Dr. Ir. Bambang Soepijanto, M.M., Head of the Agency for Extension and Human Resources Development of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry.

Following the remarks from Prof. M. Hawin, S.H., LL.M., Ph.D. and Dr. Ir. Bambang Soepijanto, M.M., the cooperation agreement was formally signed by the Head of the Agency for Extension and Human Resources Development of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry and the Dean of FH UGM. The event concluded with a briefing and gathering for scholarship recipients from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry.

“Providing opportunities for further education should be an appreciation for the contributions of civil servants. This is intended to ensure that further education is properly targeted. Scholarship recipients should make a commitment in front of their colleagues so that they feel accountable and motivated to complete their studies. The learning process should also be enjoyed and pursued with pride, ultimately leading to success. One more important thing: use social media appropriately,” advised Dr. Ir. Bambang Soepijanto, M.M. to the scholarship recipients.
He expressed his hope that the recipients would complete their studies on time and achieve excellent academic results.
