Held on the second floor of Grha Sabha Pramana (GSP), the event was part of a series of activities commemorating UGM\u2019s 67th anniversary. The exhibition was open to the public from September 20\u201325, 2016, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Other activities, including seminars, academic discussions, training sessions, and entertainment, were also held on the first floor of GSP to enliven the event.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\" class=\"translation-block\">This year\u2019s UGM Expo carried the theme \u201cGroundbreaking Innovations for the Nation.\u201d Prof. Dr. Ir. Sri Raharjo, M.Sc., the head of the organizing committee, expressed his hope that the event would provide benefits for the wider community. In his report at the opening ceremony on Tuesday (20\/9), he explained that the exhibition was divided into several zones, including the Science and Techno Park Zone, Health Zone, Food Sovereignty Zone, Energy Zone, Maritime Zone, Good Governance Zone, Socio-Cultural Zone, Disaster and Environmental Zone, and Marketplace Zone.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\" class=\"translation-block\">The Faculty of Law (FH) UGM also participated by setting up a booth in the Socio-Cultural Zone. Throughout the five-day event, FH UGM organized several activities, including: (1) showcasing research findings, journals, and books; (2) selling books authored by FH UGM lecturers; (3) providing visitors with the opportunity to use a photobooth featuring attire and accessories associated with legal professionals; (4) offering legal consultations and assistance; and (5) participating in the live music performance titled \u201cFor Our Aspirations, For Justice, For Indonesia.\u201d Legal consultations and assistance were available from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., while the live music performance took place from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">In her remarks, UGM Rector Prof. Ir. Dwikorita Karnawati, M.Sc., Ph.D., briefly highlighted the history behind the founding of UGM. She noted December 19, 1969, as the date associated with UGM\u2019s establishment, one year after the Dutch occupation of Indonesia. The establishment of UGM was regarded as a symbol of Indonesia\u2019s continued sovereignty.\n\u201cUGM is a symbol of sovereignty, a symbol of struggle, and a symbol of resistance against colonialism.
