The congratulations were dedicated to Heribertus Jaka Triyana, S.H., LL.M., M.A., who was undertaking his open doctoral examination in Law. The International Law lecturer defended his dissertation entitled \u201cThe Principle of Complementarity in the ASEAN Human Rights System.\u201d <em>Asas Pelengkap Dalam Sistem Hak Asasi Manusia ASEAN<\/em><em>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Dalam kesempatan itu, Jaka Triyana menjelaskan prospek pengaturan dan implementasi asas pelengkap terhadap pembentukan sistem hukum Hak Asasi Manusia (HAM) <em>Association of Southeast Asian Nation <\/em>(ASEAN). Menurutnya, prospek pengaturan dan implementasi asas pelengkap tersebut merupakan refleksi tentang jati diri dan paradigma ASEAN. \u201cProspek pengaturan asas pelengkap HAM ASEAN tergantung pada kemampuan ASEAN melaksanakan personalitas dan kapasitas hukumnya seperti yang diatur dalam piagam ASEAN dalam melaksanakan tujuannya,\u201dpapar Jaka Triyana.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Prospek pengaturan asas pelengkap menjadi elemen terpenting sebagai penjaga transformasi atau peralihan sifat, karakter, dan orientasi ASEAN. Prospek pengaturan asas pelengkap merupakan indikator penentu berhasil tidaknya ASEAN mentransformasikan dirinya sebagai organisasi internasional yang modern.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\" class=\"translation-block\">According to Jaka Triyana, ASEAN\u2019s accountability and legitimacy will be maintained and strengthened when regulations concerning the protection of human rights are implemented through efforts grounded in the principle of the rule of law.\n\n\u201cThe achievement of these objectives has continuously been pursued by ASEAN as a legal entity in carrying out its activities,\u201d he emphasized.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Berbagai ucapan selamat berupa karangan bunga menghiasi sekitaran Fakultas Hukum (FH) Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) pada Selasa (29\/9).
