Speakers included Agung Damarsasongko, S.H., M.H. (Head of Legal Services and Collective Management Institutions, Directorate General of Intellectual Property, Ministry of Law and Human Rights); Riyo Hanggoro Prasetyo, S.H., M.Kn. (IP & Entertainment Lawyer; Head of Business Law Program and Advisor to JDMC, Podomoro University); Tri Widyastuti S., S.Sn., M.Sn. (lecturer in Feature Film Production, FFTV IKJ; Line Producer of Critical Eleven, Habibie & Ainun, and Kartini); and Patrick Effendy (Director of CJR The Movie and Ada Cinta di SMA; Founder of Visual Expert and Majelis Lucu Indonesia).

Held via Zoom, the webinar drew 489 participants from a range of backgrounds — students, academics, practitioners, and film industry professionals. Opening remarks came from Dr. Wahyu Yun Santoso, S.H., M.Hum., LL.M., who voiced support for the webinar's theme and its focus on how IP intersects with the film industry. Yehuda Gilbert, representing JDMC at Universitas Agung Podomoro, also welcomed the collaboration, noting its value in raising content creators' awareness around mutual respect for intellectual property. Indra Kurniawan, Chair of FFTV IKJ's Student Senate, likewise expressed support, framing the webinar as encouragement for creative professionals to help prevent plagiarism, particularly within the film industry.

The first presentation, by Tri Widyastuti Setyaningsih, S.Sn., M.Sn. ("Wiwid Setya"), explained that IP is critically important and urgent within the film world, calling for greater literacy and education among film creators — copyright holders and related-rights owners — about promptly registering their work with copyright authorities. She stressed the importance of collaboration between legal practitioners and creative professionals to better protect the economic rights of creators and rights holders, including limiting outright "buyout" sale arrangements that strip away economic rights. She noted the importance of publicizing copyright registration hotlines to help artists and creators register their work, closing with the message: "Say no to piracy — piracy is a crime."

The second presentation, by Agung Damarsasongko, S.H., M.H., covered copyright protection for cinematographic/film works in detail — starting with the definition of intellectual property, then moving through the scope of copyright protection, moral rights, economic rights, and related rights held by creators. He discussed the potential for copyright infringement online, particularly piracy within the film industry, and the legal protections available when such violations occur. He closed by outlining three pillars of the copyright system: first, government regulation to guarantee creators' rights and legal protection for their work; second, law enforcement, meaning that infringement must be addressed through effective and efficient enforcement; and third, management, meaning that handling rights related to the commercialization of creative works requires proper, professional management. His message to participants: create your work and understand the law — there's no need to fear making something, since your rights are already guaranteed by law, allowing for creative work that can make Indonesia proud.

The third presentation, by Riyo Hanggoro Prasetyo, S.H., M.Kn. (Founder and Managing Partner of RHP Law; IP and Entertainment Lawyer; Head of the Business Law Program, Universitas Agung Podomoro), gave a comprehensive overview of copyright and contracts within the film industry — covering the industry's development, the regulation of cinematographic copyright in Indonesia, the distinction between copyright and the underlying creative work, and various types of film contracts.

Following the speaker presentations, the event continued with a sharing session featuring Patrick Effendy, Founder of Visual Expert, Creative Nest Indonesia, and Majelis Lucu Indonesia. He shared his career journey and how it shaped his awareness of intellectual property issues, explaining that he chose to become a producer in part to explore and better understand what can be traced back to a copyright. His session offered insight into how film industry legal protections compare abroad versus in Indonesia, and how the content creator industry has adapted during the pandemic. He closed with the message that "the standing of intellectual property rights matters far more than simply creating the work itself."

Pada hari Sabtu, 11 September 2021 Business Law Community (BLC) Fakultas Hukum Universitas Gadjah Mada mengadakan Webinar bertema “Implementasi Hak Kekayaan Intelektual Dalam Ranah Sinematografi Indonesia, Pentingkah?” yang merupakan proyek kolaborasi bersama dengan Senat Mahasiswa Fakultas Film dan Televisi (FFTV) Institut Kesenian Jakarta dan UKM Jurnalistik, Media Digital, dan Kreasi (JDMC) Universitas Agung Podomoro.
