On Friday, September 3, 2021, the Master of Laws Program at Universitas Gadjah Mada organized a seminar and guest lecture for the Law and Politics course. The event was held under the theme \u201cTransnational Movements and Their Influence on Lawmaking and Policymaking at the Local and National Levels.\u201d The seminar was conducted virtually through Zoom Meeting and livestreamed via the FH UGM Knowledge Channel on YouTube.<\/p>\n
The event commenced with welcoming remarks from the FH UGM leadership, represented by Dahliana Hasan, S.H., M.Tax., Ph.D., Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs. In her remarks, she emphasized FH UGM\u2019s commitment to accelerating interdisciplinary collaboration in the development of human resources, particularly among Master of Laws students, so that they may become more critical in analyzing national issues from various academic perspectives. She also expressed her hope that the event would enhance participants\u2019 understanding of the relationship between law and politics, enabling them to become effective problem-solvers within their respective communities.<\/p>\n
Featuring distinguished speakers with expertise in their respective fields, the event successfully attracted significant public interest, drawing more than 250 participants from various regions of Indonesia and diverse professional backgrounds. The speakers included Sri Wiyanti Eddyono, S.H., LL.M. (HR), Ph.D., Lecturer at the Faculty of Law, Universitas Gadjah Mada; Nadirsyah Hosen, Lecturer at Monash University; and Amalinda Savirani, Ph.D., Lecturer at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Gadjah Mada.\nThe speakers successfully engaged participants through discussions and questions concerning socio-political conditions in Indonesia and their influence on legislative and policy-making processes at both the local and national levels. The event lasted approximately two hours, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Western Indonesian Time (WIB).\nAs part of its ongoing efforts to enhance public understanding of contemporary legal and political issues, the Master of Laws Program announced plans to hold Law and Politics #2 in early October 2021, featuring speakers from a variety of academic disciplines.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
