The UGM Faculty of Law delegation, under the auspices of the Satria Paramartha Moot Court Community, has once again delivered a standout performance in a national moot court competition. In this event, the UGM Faculty of Law secured First Place along with the awards for Best Court Documents, Best Presenter, Best Panel of Judges, Best Legal Counsel, and Best Expert Witness.<\/p>\n

The NMCC Frans Seda 2020 Trophy was organized by Universitas Katolik Indonesia Atma Jaya and held in two stages. Stage 1, the Preliminary Round, took the form of a presentation held from February 21-23, 2020. Stage 2, the Final Round, was to have been held as a trial simulation in April 2020, but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic to August 2020 -- with a webinar held on August 7 and the final round and closing ceremony on August 15. The final round, originally planned to take place in person in Jakarta, was also shifted to a fully online format, including the trial simulation, judging process, and the announcement and closing ceremony, all conducted via Zoom.<\/p>\n

The final round was contested by four delegations that had advanced from the preliminary round: Universitas Padjadjaran, Universitas Pelita Harapan, and Universitas Ahmad Dahlan. The case facts (kasus posisi) used in the Frans Seda 2020 NMCC involved the hacking of bank customer data -- a scenario that provided a unique challenge for delegation members and sharpened their skills in cybercrime and criminal law.<\/p>\n

The UGM Faculty of Law delegation for the Frans Seda 2020 NMCC comprised 16 members and 2 officials: Putra Pengayoman, Berliana Dwi Arthanti, Ramadanti Nanda Ardianzah, I Gusti Komang Wijaya Kesuma, Puteri Titian Damai, Rycshen Chanry, Sukma Hadi Wijaya, Anindya Fairuz Fitri, Alya Anindita Rahmans, Aditya Ery Wibowo, Haryo Putro Dirgantoro, Jennifer, Morantha Audi Dion Pardede, Teguh Anugerah F., Assya Putri Rahmadani, Kimi Bulan Rumondang Sianipar, Esther Simamora, and Philip Albert. The delegation was supervised by Muhammad Fatahillah Akbar, S.H., LL.M., who served as Faculty Supervisor.\nAll delegation members are deeply grateful for the prayers and hard work that delivered the best possible result for their alma mater -- particularly amid the pandemic and the shift to an online competition format. The achievement would not have been possible without the assistance of all those who supported the team. It is hoped that future UGM Faculty of Law students will continue to bring honor to their alma mater, both at the national and international level.<\/p>\n
