The event took place on Tuesday, 3 March 2026, from 15.30 WIB until completion, at Meeting Room 1, Research Center, Faculty of Law UGM. The discussion was open to Faculty of Law researchers and LGS volunteers.

The discussion was led by Dr. Diana Batchelor, Primary Investigator of the research, and moderated by Annisa Ayuningtyas, S.H., LL.M., Co-researcher.

During the session, Dr. Diana Batchelor presented preliminary findings that centered the voices and perspectives of victims in understanding the meaning of justice, particularly how victims' experiences throughout their pursuit of justice shape their understanding of what is genuinely needed for recovery and recognition. The research positions victims' narratives at the core of its analysis, aiming to critically examine justice approaches that have traditionally focused primarily on formal legal processes, without sufficiently accounting for victims' subjective experiences and needs.

Through this forum, the research team hoped to gain input from Faculty researchers and LGS volunteers to further enrich the analysis, while opening space for critical discussion on how legal and social systems can become more responsive to victims' voices in achieving meaningful justice.

The training also contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 on Quality Education by strengthening volunteers’ understanding of gender, masculinity, and sexuality as important perspectives in legal research; SDG 5 on Gender Equality by promoting equality, preventing gender-based violence, and encouraging men’s engagement in advancing gender equality; and SDG 16 on Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions by fostering legal research and advocacy that are more responsive to issues of gender, identity, and power relations. Through capacity building, LGS FH UGM seeks to advance more inclusive, responsive, and equitable approaches to legal research and practice.

Pusat Kajian Law, Gender, and Society (LGS) Fakultas Hukum Universitas Gadjah Mada menyelenggarakan Sharing Session Seri 5 yang memaparkan temuan awal penelitian berjudul “Aku Mau Cerita…”: Gambaran Korban tentang Keadilan.
