Students of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FH UGM), have once again achieved a remarkable accomplishment. Representing FH UGM, the Mochtar Kusumaatmadja Team, consisting of Archadia Massayu Paleva (2023), Selvia Fida Zalfa (2023), and Hafidh Amirul Huda (2023), secured First Place in the 2025 National Legal Scientific Writing Competition (Lomba Karya Tulis Ilmiah Nasional) held as part of Pekan Hukum XIII. In addition to winning the championship title, the team also earned awards for Best Paper and Best Presentation, demonstrating excellence in both academic writing and the effective communication of ideas. They emerged victorious after competing against 35 teams from universities across Indonesia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Organized by the Center for Legal Studies and Consultation (PSKH) of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, the competition carried the theme \u201cBringing Law Closer to Society, Nurturing Democracy toward a Just Indonesia.\u201dThe event served as a strategic platform for law students nationwide to present innovative ideas in addressing democratic challenges and contemporary legal issues in Indonesia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For the competition, the Mochtar Kusumaatmadja Team submitted a paper entitled \u201cOptimizing E-Procurement through Blockchain-Based Smart Contracts as an Effort to Prevent Corruption in Public Procurement of Goods and Services.\u201d The paper examined the persistent problem of corruption in the procurement sector while highlighting existing shortcomings in the digitalization of procurement systems. By proposing the implementation of blockchain-based smart contract technology, the team offered a framework designed to enhance transparency, automate procurement processes, and significantly reduce opportunities for manipulation, thereby limiting the potential for corrupt practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The panel of judges considered the paper outstanding due to its innovative approach, strong analytical framework, and high relevance to ongoing efforts to improve national legal governance. The interdisciplinary integration of law and technology was particularly recognized as a key strength that propelled the Mochtar Kusumaatmadja Team to the top position. This achievement not only reflects the academic excellence of FH UGM students but also serves as an inspiration for other students to continue innovating, competing, and contributing to the advancement of law and good governance in Indonesia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
