On Wednesday, January 28, 2026, the Faculty of Law at Gadjah Mada University, through its Legal Aid Consultation Center (PKBH), in collaboration with the Yogyakarta Provincial Attorney General's Office, successfully conducted a \u201cSuluh Praja\u201d legal education program at the Duwet Village Office, Wonosari District, Gunungkidul Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta Province. This legal counseling aimed to provide insight and legal knowledge to village officials on legal issues related to narcotics and the utilization of village treasury land. This activity also aimed to instill and increase the awareness of village officials on the importance of preventive measures against narcotics abuse for a good life and to optimize the utilization of village treasury land in accordance with applicable regulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event began at 09:40 a.m. with the singing of the Indonesian national anthem, Indonesia Raya. This was followed by an opening speech from the Head of Wareng Village, Mr. Warsito. The initial presentation was delivered by the Datun team from the Yogyakarta Provincial Attorney General's Office, represented by Surhayawan, S.H., along with a team that presented material related to the main duties and functions of the civil and administrative law division of the Yogyakarta Provincial Attorney General's Office. The presentation was then continued by a team of lecturers from the Faculty of Law, UGM, namely Dr. Sigid Riyanto, S.H., M.Si., who delivered material related to narcotics, and Rafael Edy Bosko, S.H., MIL., who delivered material related to the utilization of village treasury land.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The presentation on \u201cNarcotics\u201d emphasized efforts to avoid the use of narcotics, which often worsens the lives of users, and stressed that the law should be considered not as an obligation but as a necessity. Furthermore, the material on \u201cUtilization of Village Treasury Land\u201d emphasized the general mechanism for the use of village treasury land and an analysis of its actual utilization in the relevant village. After the presentation of material by the speakers, the legal counseling event continued with a discussion session that included several questions regarding cases that occurred in the village and regarding efforts that could be made to protect young people in the village from drug problems. All speakers, both from the Kejati DIY team and the UGM Faculty of Law lecturers, actively participated in the question and answer session with the village officials\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The presentation of material and discussion in this activity were conducted interactively with an emphasis on providing clear and solution-oriented answers. The implementation of legal education is in accordance with SDG point 9 regarding strengthening information system management that supports industry, innovation, and infrastructure; SDG point 11 in an effort to create sustainable settlements; SDG point 16 on strengthening peace, justice, and resilient institutions starting from the village administration; and SDG point 17 on strengthening partnerships to achieve more inclusive and sustainable development goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
