The Faculty of Law of Universitas Gadjah Mada (FH UGM) welcomed an educational visit from students of Madrasah Aliyah Pondok Pesantren (MA PP) Al Fatah Maos, Cilacap, on Tuesday (27\/1\/2026). The visit was attended by 39 students accompanied by eight teachers and staff members as part of a higher education introduction program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The group was officially received at the Faculty of Law. Opening remarks were delivered by the Head of MA PP Al Fatah Maos, Fitriyah Mukti, S.Pt., who expressed her hope that the visit would broaden students\u2019 understanding of higher education, particularly legal education, and inspire them to pursue university studies in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The program continued with a presentation by the Head of the Undergraduate Study Program at the UGM Faculty of Law, Dr. Khotibul Umam, S.H., LL.M. During his presentation, he introduced the Faculty of Law and highlighted its eleven academic departments, which cover various fields of legal studies, including Islamic Law, Agrarian Law, and numerous other legal disciplines.\nHe emphasized that legal studies encompass a broad range of issues that directly intersect with everyday life, making the discipline highly relevant and strategically important in society and governance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second presentation was delivered by Martaningsih Adityas Putri, S.Pd., from the Faculty\u2019s Academic Affairs Office. She explained the various admission pathways to Universitas Gadjah Mada, including the National Test-Based Selection (Seleksi Nasional Berdasarkan Tes\u2014SNBT), the UGM Independent Test-Based Admission Scheme (Seleksi Mandiri Berbasis Tes\u2014SMBT), and other independent admission routes.\nShe also emphasized that the UGM Faculty of Law welcomes applicants from diverse educational backgrounds, including not only students from the social sciences and humanities stream but also those from science and technology disciplines.\nIn addition to discussing admission pathways, Martaningsih outlined several advantages of studying at the UGM Faculty of Law. These include access to affordable housing and transportation in Yogyakarta, a supportive academic environment, and opportunities to learn from experienced scholars, including international faculty members.\nFurthermore, students of the Faculty of Law have opportunities to participate in a variety of international programs, such as student exchange schemes, which broaden global perspectives and enrich academic experiences. The entire session was moderated by Tri Rahmat Hidayat, A.Md.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The campus tour was designed to provide participants with a comprehensive overview of university life at UGM, covering admission processes, academic programs, and student life in Yogyakarta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The students demonstrated considerable enthusiasm throughout the program, particularly during the interactive discussion session. They raised a wide range of questions, including strategies for gaining admission to UGM, career prospects for law graduates, and the role and relevance of law in contemporary Indonesian society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This educational visit aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), by expanding access to information about higher education and encouraging young people to pursue further academic opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
