A student delegation from the Faculty of Law at Gadjah Mada University achieved outstanding success at the 2025 Indonesian Tax Dispute Moot Court Competition (IMTAX), a national tax dispute moot court competition organized by the State Finance Polytechnic (STAN). The competition, which was participated in by 14 teams from various universities across Indonesia, was part of a series of events celebrating the 10th anniversary of PKN STAN and the 79th Indonesian National Money Day (HORI). This competition also serves as a manifestation of the implementation of the Ministry of Finance\u2019s \u201cKemenkeu Satu\u201d program in collaboration with the Tax Court Secretariat, the Directorate General of Taxes, the Tax Training Center, and the Tax Oversight Committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The UGM delegation consisted of M. Sabdo Nugroho, Agnes Dewita Lestari, Yazied Akbar Hasani, Salsabila Afifa Hanifa, Wayan Nadya Maica Putri, Muhammad Faisal Ramadhan, Agra Rajwaa Ramadhan Putra, Irawan Sapto Aji, Janise Swaputri Mahemadanda, Eva Selvia Putri Arlista, Beril Ray Sudarna, Benediktus Concilio Sinaga, Ignatius Seto Baskara Putra, and Emilia Dennys Adhita Putri. All members of the delegation are students in the Class of 2023 at the UGM Faculty of Law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The delegation advanced to the finals after competing in the preliminary round, which took place from September 6 to October 3, 2025. During this stage, the participants drafted legal documents including a Complaint, a Response, a Power of Attorney, and a Letter of Assignment. After undergoing a rigorous evaluation process, the UGM team was selected as one of the top three teams in the Complaint category. In the Final Round, held in person on October 30, 2025, at Building G, PKN STAN Campus, South Tangerang, they presented a mock tax dispute hearing before a panel of judges consisting of academics, tax consultants, and officials from the Directorate of Objections and Appeals of the DGT.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Based on their mastery of the subject matter, solid legal arguments, and procedural accuracy during the proceedings, the UGM delegation won First Place in the Complaint Category. Not only that, but three team members also received individual awards: Best Witness (Beril Ray Sudarna), Best Defendant (Emilia Dennys Adhita Putri), and Best Plaintiff (Irawan Sapto Aji). This success would not have been possible without the academic guidance provided by Dr. Arvie Johan, S.H., M.Hum., the faculty advisor who consistently offered guidance and support throughout the competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This achievement serves as tangible proof of the commitment of students at the Faculty of Law, Gadjah Mada University, to honing their academic skills and practicing tax law with integrity and professionalism. In addition to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), this achievement also reflects the enthusiasm of UGM students to actively contribute to strengthening the national legal and tax systems and to bring honor to their alma mater at the national level. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
